Thank you, Beta Tau Delta
To the editor,
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude and appreciation for all of the many community members throughout Greene County that go above and beyond each day for the students in all of the Greene County schools.
A specific example of this has been with my most recent experience with the Beta Tau Delta group. Each and every year the second grade students at Paton-Churdan and Greene County Schools have the opportunity to visit Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to accompany our Paton-Churdan second graders and take part in this experience first hand. I can tell you that it did not disappoint.
To begin, this great group of gals meticulously organized a day full of fun that included multiple once in a lifetime experiences, as well as provided chaperones for each group that attended. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to visit the animal exhibits, learn up close and personal at a small animal program, feed giraffes and parakeets, take a train ride, and have a delicious hot lunch all free of charge. Students even walked away with a goody bag full of treats and souvenirs.
This was by far the most well organized and fulfilling field trip I have chaperoned and I know that without the generosity of the Beta Tau Delta group and many other groups, some of these experiences our students may miss out on. So with sincere gratitude and appreciation, I want to thank the many people that work hard by donating their time, resources, and money to make these experiences happen for our children. Greene County, Iowa, truly is a great place to be!
